Bringing community sand volleyball to Citrus Trails Community Park.
The Opportunity
With construction already underway at Citrus Trails Community Park, Loma Linda has a rare opportunity to add public sand volleyball courts to a space our community will enjoy for years to come. Sand volleyball is one of the fastest-growing recreational sports in Southern California — yet the Inland Empire has very few public, competition-quality courts. Adding courts now, while the park is being built, is far more practical than retrofitting them later.
Growing the Game for Local Youth
Beach volleyball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the NCAA, with deep roots right here in Southern California. Local schools — including Loma Linda Academy and Arrowhead Christian Academy — have added sand volleyball teams, and interest keeps growing among young athletes who have nowhere nearby to play. Public courts at Citrus Trails would give local kids, youth leagues, adult clubs, and families a place to learn the game, compete, and stay active year-round.
About Us
Catherine and Jeremy are long-time Loma Linda residents and lifelong sand volleyball enthusiasts. Last season we helped coach a local high school’s sand volleyball team, and for over 15 years we’ve organized local sand and grass volleyball tournaments across the community. We’ve worked alongside others who’ve successfully brought courts to life — including projects at Yucaipa Regional Park, the Pearce Sports Complex, and the Drayson Center — and we’d love to help bring that same opportunity home to Loma Linda.
