If you enjoy playing beach volleyball but hate the drive, then you have stumbled upon the right place.  Stars volleyball seeks to connect sand and grass volleyball enthusiasts, especially those playing 2 vs 2 style of outdoor volleyball.  We put on tournaments, leagues, and play a lot of pick-up.  If you wish to be connected with this active outdoor volleyball community, please be sure to connect with our email list.

Sure, we love to play sand volleyball at the beach as well!  But for those of us that don’t have beach front properties and are stuck with a 40 minute to 1 hr and 30 min drive to the nearest Pacific Ocean sand, it makes  playing sand volleyball a weekend activity.  And more often it becomes a monthly activity.  For those living in the Inland Empire, we hope to change that by connecting beginner, mid-level, and high level outdoor beach volleyball and grass volleyball players.

We have a growing group of 30 to 50 sand and grass volleyball players of varying skill levels and are working to recruit an even large pool of players to join the mix.  For those familiar with CBVA, we have players in our group ranging from unrated to AA.  The majority of our current group falls in the CBVA rating range of B to A.

Greatest Sand in the IE

The location had previously been the difficult part about playing beach volleyball in the Inland Empire.  Currently, we have one of the best places to play sand volleyball in the Inland Empire.  The Drayson Center shelled out some decent $$ and imported some of the finest sand in the area.  If I had to compare the sand we are fortunate to play with vs Mahattan beach or Redondo beach, I wouldn’t be able to tell all that much of a difference.

Soft sand simply makes the game better!  Diving becomes an integral part of the game.  Quickness is all that more difficult.  And rallies simply last longer making for a great workout!

Grass Volleyball Keeps Growing

Stars Volleyball | Grass Volleyball in the Inland Empire

The more we connect with outdoor volleyball players, the more we are learning that there is a large community of  grass volleyball players in southern California and in particular in the Inland Empire.  Our grass volleyball tournaments are some of our more popular events.

For our current tournaments, players must be 16 years of age. We have plans to run some younger activities soon, but no specified dates as of yet.
